On the way to Valdez

Aug 16 day 17
We spent last night at the Beaver Creek RV park in Beaver Creek, After a day of travel on the Alaska Highway we can't believe the beauty down this "Adventure Corridor".  But all is not always wonderful the road to Valdez is riddled with stones and our windshield has a chip from the rocks.  Part of the road is so bad you get escorted by another vehicle (will post later).
Another thing that's unusual is the daylight.  It is very bright and it's almost 9pm.  Daylight is much longer then in IL.
I know everyone is watching the Olympics and we were hoping to catch some, so we put on our antenna and we get one channel and figure well lets watch the one channel. Guess what the one event that I wanted to see, Mike Phelps swimming the butterfly is on and guess what I saw him win the medal.  What luck, the Gods are with us, I hope they are with us tomorrow when we tour Valdez.  It's cold and wet right now as we camp in Bear Paw RV park.
