Beach camping Seward Kenai Peninsula

Aug 19th Day 20
Well after a night in Palmer we went to Anchorage to stock up on some supplies and were lucky to buy some Sockeye Salmon for tonights dinner.  As we head south on the Turnagain Arm into the Kenai Peninsula we enjoy the beautiful scenery.  We plan to spend a couple of days in Seward, but need to find and RV park and no luck, all full of these Alaskans vacationing for the weekend.  Well we happen upon a Beach Campground and oh what fun it was.  For 20 bucks we had this beautiful view of Resurrection Bay.  Each motorhome has a stone campfire and we share this view of the water, at one point an eagle comes flying over looking for a fish meal.  This is a big fishing area and besides spending the night at the beach a fishing contest for the largest silver Salmon was going on.  We met the guy that thinks he might be the winner of 10 K, his fish was 16.2lbs and so far he has won if no one can beat him. It was such a treat to spend a night talking to the local Alaskans.  Les and Cindy with their kids Cory and Branden, Les was an Engineer and his son Cory is following in his footsteps. Branden has his girlfriend Cheyenne with him.
